Festivals in North America
Festivals have been a long carried on tradition in many areas. They are a host to many different things, religious or historical traditions, and can celebrate anything from art, to food, beer, music, science, or theatre. Often they are found to be a source of entertainment and education, and can bring you into contact with colorful cultures and locations.
Festivals like Independence Day, on July 4th when there is a Presidential address and rejoicing by barbecue, picnics and family gatherings and end the night with a display of fireworks. On the 4th Thursday of every November in North America, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated. St. Patrick’s Day in March, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day are also celebrated widely by US citizens.
The summer months are the time for Jazz Festivals in many places in North America. This particularly takes place in New Orleans and Montréal, where there are film and beer festivals taking place. Also, there are festivals which have rodeo, concerts, wagon races, agricultural competitions and pancake breakfasts, transforming North American into a cowboy heaven.
