Best times to Travel to Europe
The peak periods for travel are the times when the majority of tourists have some type of school holiday such as Christmas, New Year, or Easter. During these times the prices are more likely to be high for air fare, as well as accommodations.
Months from April through June, or September and October are the best times to see places like Greece, Turkey, Spain and Italy, because the crowds aren’t likely to be there, and fares for traveling aren’t quite as expensive. You will get the most out of your experience during these months. The weather is milder for sight seeing, whereas if you were to go in July or August, it may just be too hot to fully appreciate all there is to see.
If you are considering traveling to Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands or the Czech Republic, then the months of July or August are the best times to look into. The climate is the best in these areas during this time, also taking into consideration that many of the locals will be away on holiday in Southern Europe during these months. Europe is cold from November to March, so the bargains are much better during this time of year. The Canary Islands, which are a part of Spain, are the exception of the weather rules, because they are located near the coast of Africa, which enables them to enjoy moderate climates year round.

Best time to travel to France
The springtime is the best time to visit France. With the weather warm, and the days longer, it permits for the beaches to be open and tourists also have a full day to explore and sightsee. The fall weather is also nice; the only downfall is the it starts to get darker earlier in the days, so as a tourist you won’t have as much time to sightsee. The majority of people visit Germany between May and September, when the skies offer clear, sunny weather. This destination is actually a great place to travel all year round, keeping in mind that the summer months will always be the most popular and most crowded. If you are looking to come sometime when it may be quieter and the accommodations are more affordable, look into the shoulder months of March to May, and October to early November. Winter months are also very pretty in Germany, just bear in mind that the days are much shorter during these months, and that you’ll want to bundle up- temperatures can often fall below freezing.
Best time to travel to Greece
The high season of travel in Greece is during the months of June through August, when the weather is warm and nice enough to lay out on the beach and enjoy. The winter months still offer a nice enough climate to walk around outside in, at about 10* C, but this may be a bit too cold for the beach. During the winter months, the area is generally very quiet outside the major cities. Tourist traffic generally doesn’t get heaving during these months of October through April.
The best time of the year to visit Greece is during the spring or autumn months. The weather is nice and warm, without getting to incredibly hot. The beaches and popular tourist sites are relatively un-crowded, and all the public transports function on full hours during this time of the year.
Best time to travel Italy
Weather differs from the north to the south, as well as from the lowlands to the mountaintops. Temperatures at sea level tend to stay consistent around the country, while altitudes create the real change between summer and winter. In the Alps, winters can be harsh, with the snow falling as early as the middle of September. Storms often develop during these times, making the summer the wettest season in this area.

During the winter months of November through March, it’s not generally advised to vacation in Norway unless you are an avid fan of skiing. Even with that said, it’s generally much quieter and many hostels or campgrounds located outside of the major cities are likely to be closed during these months.
Best time to travel to Spain
May, June and September offer the best months to travel the North of Spain, while April and October offer the best to travel to the South of Spain. In this time, you can expect to experience near perfect weather. A sunny sky, temperatures that are warm but not exceedingly hot, as well as avoiding the rush of tourists during these months is the main attraction. One of the major attractions is Madrid, which regularly freezes in the months of December through February, but can reach beautiful temperatures of 30* C in July or August. If you are looking for a coastal retreat, try Barcelona, where the weather is warm and nice, and humidity is generally never experienced.
Best time to visit Turkey
Spring and Autumn seasons offer the best weather to tourists of Turkey. Colder temperatures affect the center, places like Anatolia, but not to the point of freezing. Misquotes are best avoided before or after the summer months, ranging from June to August.
During April through September, you’ll experience the best months to visit the Black Sea Coastline, although mild rainfall is still typical this time of year.
Best time to visit Portugal
It all depends on where you are going to visit in Portugal that determines what time of year is better to go. Places lie the Mediterranean in the south, or the Algarve both host year round warm temperatures, averaging around 30*C. Peak season for tourism takes place during the months of June through September; also Carnival and Easter are two holidays that are widely celebrated and worth going out of your way to visit for.
The wettest season takes place from November through March, the farther north you travel, the wetter it will become.
